Chalet Hôtel du Bois brunch aux Houches

Very nice staff. Very comfortable bed. Modern bathroom with tub and good shower. Fridge in room. You can ask for a kettle at the front desk. No english channels on tv. Wifi was good. Our room was at the back of the hotel so it was very quiet. Good breakfast. Parking was very easy. Short walk to the bus stop that takes you to Chamonix and the ski resorts. Rides are free with your ski pass otherwise it’s 2.20 euros and you can buy your ticket on the bus. Not many restaurants but we quite liked Le Saint Antoine and went twice.

Amazing holiday. The weather and ski conditions were perfect, the hotel staff were all just so nice, food was great, other guests were wonderful company and good fun to be with and the ski guides were fabulous.

I spent a week here witha ski group. I loved it. Wonderful hospitality from Aurora and the entire staff. I enjoyed the sauna after a cold day on the slopes. The bar and restaurant were warm and inviting. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Really enjoy stopping in at Chalet Hôtel du Bois. I live nearby and often end up working from the bar for a bit — it’s a great atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming. Lovely staff, nice space, and just an all-round good place to spend time. Would definitely recommend popping in if you’re in the area.

I like everything and how stuff are nice and spa and the cozy bar, but it’s disappointing that u don’t even have a boiler inside the room or like water or whatever

Excellent and clean room. This hotel is close to bus stop and it is easy to access le houches and Chamonix center. One disappointed point is arrival time. Hotel entrance is locked from 8pm. I arrived late, I can't open entrance. If you will arrive late, you should tell hotel staff. Ski storage available, close to supermarket.

Nice and cozy hotel, clean and comfortable. The food was great and the free shuttle bus service is very handy!

Honnêtement c’est un hôtel excellent pas trop loin des pistes. En plus il y a une piscine chaude et le petit-déj’ est magnifique, j’adore la vue sur la Mont blanc

Un espèce de running gag des tuches au niveau de la réception, qui malheureusement ne nous a pas fais rire. Clairement le service réception n’est pas à la hauteur des autres service. Manque de rigueur, peu aimable avec une volonté de bien faire qui se rapproche du néant.

Lovely hotel as base for skiing and exploring. Nice rooms with balconies facing Mont Blanc. Good pool, and nice restaurant for dinner. Breakfast just what you need - simple and good. Bacon cold be crispier , but that is a minor moan. Bar area is so lovely, but can feel like you could wait forever for staff to come and serve. A bell or other means of alerting staff would be helpful. I think a bar like that would be much busier if it was easier to get served. And again a minor comment, a French beer on tap is essential non? The staff were all amazing and so helpful and friendly. Overall a really great stay. Would definitely return!

Do not stay here. The service is terrible, the rooms are small, and it’s very far from the skiing mountains. When it was time for me to leave they would not let me bring my skis and boots to my room to pack. They made me pack all my belongs in their lobby. When paying almost €500 this should not be the case. This also lead me to miss my bus and pay the hefty €50 uber fee to the mountain. Please stay literally anywhere else.

Visited for a 3 night stay as a couple, the staff were welcoming and helpful. For the price we thought it was excellent. There is a sauna and pool (free to use) and a free bus to drop/collect to the ski lift. With the bus and a cracking hire shop opposite, it’s really convenient. The main bus to Chamonix is a short 5 min walk away (Saint Antoine), so access to other ski areas of Chamonix is pretty easy. The breakfast was good, although we didn’t eat in the evening, it looked popular. The hotel bar was also a pleasant place to relax. My only fault was the carpet in our room was perhaps a bit tired, but again for the price and service I thought this place was brilliant. I would seriously consider this place with children and beginners, the nursery slope is a 5 min walk away and Les Houches has everything you need with an option to pop on the bus to busier Chamonix.

Just had a great stay at HDB. A warm welcome from the team followed by a great Ski Gathering kick off meeting. The room was very good with a new bathroom with a bath and plenty of hot water. We were given lifts to and from the slopes every day which was needed. Opposite is a very helpful ski shop. Great food every night and a sumptuous buffet breakfast.

Great hotel, location, restaurant amazing dinners

Hotel du Bois has a wonderful location in Les Houches, France. It is very easy to access the local skiing and shopping in town. The staff at the hotel are wonderful. Ninoo is an expert on the town and knows all the great local places to go. She goes out of her way to accommodate visitors. You will enjoy your stay at the hotel.

Parfait ! L'accueil est impeccable, la chambre à la hauteur, les services plus que sarisfaisants comme piscine, sauna, restaurant. C'était superbe, tout comme l'hôtel en lui même qui a une ambiance chaleureuse, reposante, et historique. Merci à l'équipe

Nous avons été très bien reçus. En particulier au restaurant où la carte nous permet d'apprécier les spécialités locales tres bien exécutées par le chef. Cette maison familiale tranche avec la standardisation des chaînes hôtelières. Je reviendrai en famille l'année prochaine.

Nous avons eu le bonheur de privatiser cet hôtel pour le mariage de notre fils. Superbe décor et ambiance chaleureuse. Que ce soit pour l'hôtel ou le restaurant nous avons pu bénéficier de prestations de très haute qualité. Une mention spéciale pour tout le personnel que ce soit à l'accueil, dans les chambres ou au restaurant. Deuxième mention spéciale pour le Chef et sa brigade qui nous ont offert un repas de noces somptueux ! C'est vraiment à un endroit à recommander ... Encore merci.

Maybe the Chalet Hôtel du Bois shines in the winter, but late summer is definitely not its moment. The whole complex has a haunted feel: architecture that doesn’t make sense, a sort of dampness which won’t go away, and an abandoned and sad back garden. The restaurant prepared food which could have come from a military mess hall and the staff were somnambulant, even by European standards. The Irishwoman at the front desk, however, was charming and helpful. And there is an interesting little museum corner dedicated to Joseph Bois and the history of his scientific study of Mont Blanc.

Fab hotel - lovely swimming pool- very generous breakfast and great value

Excellent hôtel , restaurant au top , piscine et sauna intérieur, chambres avec vue sur les alpes très proche , personnel très agréable et serviable . Je recommande sans hésiter .

We stayed here at the start of our Tour du Mont Blanc. The room was acceptable for a short stay but very basic and not particularly clean, which was a bit disappointing.||Check-in, however, was excellent — the receptionist was extremely helpful and welcoming. Bar and restaurant staff were friendly enough, though not particularly attentive.||Dinner was included and the food itself was good, but the options weren’t explained very clearly. Breakfast was fine, with the typical continental spread of meats, cheeses, and pastries.||Overall, the stay was okay for one night and convenient for starting the TMB, but the hotel feels outdated and could do with a refresh, especially in terms of cleanliness.

Bon hôtel, au top d’avoir accès à la piscine et au sauna gratuitement. Point négatif le restaurant et le fait qu’il n’y ai pas ni café ou thé dans les chambres.

good place for hikers

Stayed at this hotel on the front and back end of my tmb. Overall my experience was good;however, on the back end they place me in room #114. That room is directly above where all the staff goes outside to smoke. There is no air conditioning so being able to open the balcony door is a must. The front desk person asked them to smoke somewhere else, but it didn't seem to help. No rooms available to switch. I would recommend this hotel unless in rooms 113,114,115.

Good location, a bit away from the hustle and bustle. Very helpful staff, cozy bar, and a delicious dinner! Only deficit was nonexistent WiFi. While our trip was centered around hiking the TMB, we did count on using the WiFi as advertised. Everything else - thumbs up!

Prettige sfeer in dit hotel, hier en daar wat achterstallig onderhoud, maar de kamers zijn schoon en ruim voldoende. Service is snel en behulpzaam.
