Fantastic location for skiers with easy access to the slopes. We usually book self catering but as we were in Les Gets for a sneaky final week’s skiing we decided to take the 1/2 board option at John and Nicola’s family owned and managed slope-side hotel. Great food with plenty of choice and an extensive cheese board every evening. Excellent wine list and convivial bar - we had a brilliant week catching up with old friends. And the snow was good too so a fine end to the ski season. See you next year.

Best first family ski holiday we could have wished for!||We had the most wonderful stay at Hotel Christiania in Les Gets. The location truly couldn’t be better, right outside the main ski lift and ski school meeting point, which made everything so easy, especially with kids.||Our room was on the smaller side, but it was perfectly adequate for a family of four. The storage and shelving were really well thought out, allowing us to unpack properly and keep things organised. A few extra hooks would have been a great addition for hanging towels and jackets, but overall it worked very well for us.||We stayed half board, which included breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. Dinner was a real highlight each evening, with a fantastic four-course meal and an excellent cheese course. Home away from home, John and Nichola are wonderful hosts and provided a perfect reunion to skiing after 12 years this time with kids. The rooms are perfect for sleeping and the living area and bar made for welcoming afternoons after a long morning. Food was exceptional and the team and Alice were the perfect hosts. Thanks for all the little touches and help you provided us along the way. Its clear you have passion for what you do. We hope to return again soon!

Un excellent moment du début à la fin ! L’établissement est très accueillant, on s’y sent tout de suite à l’aise. Les repas sont délicieux, préparés avec soin et pleins de saveurs. Le personnel est particulièrement attentionné, toujours souriant et aux petits soins. Une très belle expérience que nous recommandons vivement !

A superb hotel with wonderful hosts, a lovely cosy apres-ski bar, excellent food, a great location and a lovely 'feel' to the hotel. We were very happy during our stay. The hotel is ski-in, ski-out so very convenient and only 25 metres from the nearest lift which takes you straight into to the main ski area. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, providing helpful advice and always being available to talk, from breakfast to supper. The staff were universally attentive, chatty and happy - they made a real difference to our holiday. The food was splendid and the wine list was extensive and well priced. Our room was comfortable, warm and well located. We very much hope to return next year bringing with us our son, daughter-in-law and grandson for his first experience on snow. We have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel Christiania to other travellers.

Excellent location near the ski slopes. |Very nice restaurant with great food. English breakfast as default. "Dutch" breakfast on request. |Rooms are basic, nothing special. From 7am untill 22pm there's a airvent (from the kitchen?) that makes some noise that can be disturbing. Not sure if this is the case for all rooms.|Shower faucet without temperature control, which makes your showertemperature fluctuating from cold to very hot.

The highlight was definitely the delicious dinner – beautifully prepared and full of flavour.||Alice and her parents were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, always going out of their way to make us feel comfortable.||We would highly recommend this hotel and would happily return!

A total gem. This family run hotel was full of warmth, pretty much the most welcoming friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s bang next to the slopes too. The facilities are a little tired but the good food and company made up for it.

Yet again, a great ski holiday based at Hotel Christiania with good snow conditions to ski in and ski out. The food was delicious as always, friendly atmosphere in the lounge and welcoming hosts.

Yet again we enjoyed our stay immensely. The hosts John and Nicola are really friendly and run the hotel very well. We have been coming here for many years now, and every time we visit it feels like home. The location is perfect, food was excellent and staff very attentive.

Nous avons loué un appartement lié à l’hôtel. |La réception était souvent déserte et j’ai beaucoup attendu pour obtenir les clés de l’appartement que j’ai loué mais le monsieur qui a fini par me donner les clés était super ; bienveillant, sympa et a cherché des solutions pour que ce soit le plus facile et le plus confortable pour nous. L’hôtel et les appartements sont vraiment très bien situé au pied des pistes et les 2 ont accès à un local de stockage de skis. Nous avons passé un excellent weekend avec les enfants grâce à cela.

This Scottish family run hotel is a gem. The location by the lifts is perfect. The atmosphere is friendly with John and his lovely family as mine hosts. The bar is lively (we had bagpipes and a band one night.) Stay half board, the dinners are out of this world with a different menu every night offering really interesting and innovate dishes. And rare, for ski hotels, a cooked breakfast.

The location of the Christiana is excellent; a few strides through the hotel garden from the ski room to the piste and a very short walk to the attractive main street of Les Gets. Comfortable, clean accommodation with friendly, attentive staff. Pleasant bar and lounge area with an open fire where tea and cake are served after skiing and delicious suppers, including a fabulous cheese board. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

Dès l’arrivée l’accueil est chaleureux et familial par un patron écossais Jhon, sa femme et son équipe. L’emplacement est idéal aux pieds des pistes et du centre ville. Un local à chaussure chauffé avec séchoir est disponible Ainsi qu’à casier à ski. Nous avons séjourné 7 nuit en demi pension. Le petit déjeuner est copieux salé, sucré à l’anglaise, bien sûr des viennoiserie et du pain sont dispo, on a profité du tea Time entre 16h et 17h avec un gâteau excellent et différent tous les jours, la soirée était accompagnée par un menu avec mise en bouche 3 entrées aux choix 3 plats, assiette de fromage locale et 3 desserts, tout était différent tous les soirs, de qualité et raffiné, cela dans une atmosphère chaleureuse avec sa cheminée de feu de bois. We have just returned from a five night stay at Hotel Christiania. The hotel was good. We had a small issue on the first night which was dealt with brilliantly by John and from that point forward everything was as you would want it to be. The staff were all absolutely brilliant throughout the entire stay. The evening meals were just superb plus the added bonus of tea/coffee and cake every afternoon.The location has to be one of the best in Les Gets. you can ski to and from the hotel without any issues whatsoever. It was our first stay at the hotel but we met and chatted with many people who have been returning year after year.

This place is impossible to beat. The hotel is super centrally located right at the base of the mountain. You can ski from the top al the way down to the bottom and walk 30 steps to put your skis away. They have everything thought of for getting ready and ski storage. The hospitality is very well run, and the food is very very good and they are super accommodating. My only negative thing to say is we can't go back soon enough. Don't look elsewhere, book here now if you are on the fence and get in while you can.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Christiania. The ski-in, ski-out location is perfect, and being right in town makes everything easily accessible.The food is exquisite each evening, as well as amazing cheese and wine, and afternoon tea by the cosy fire is a lovely touch. The staff are fantastic and make the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

Another fantastic stay at the Christiania, the location cannot be bettered, only 50m from the main uplift and close to restaurants, bars and shopping in the village. Great welcome by the friendly staff, and the food over the week was exceptional, which when allied with the amazing wine list with great recommendations from John made for a wonderful dining experience. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the dedicated ski storage and heated boot room are a very welcome addition, especially putting on warmed boots at the start of the day. Its why I keep coming back, year after year. I cannot recommnend highly enough.

Although the room was relatively small, this was more than compensated for by the very high level of service and excellent location (genuinely ski in and ski out). We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending.

Fantastic family run friendly unique experience

Back Again. I think this is my 18th year in a row often more than once, we have met lots of people who are our closest friends. The bar and restaurant are the most friendly places and everybody bonds together like a big family.

Cet hôtel est très bien situé au pied des pistes et près du télésiège des Chavannes. Avons été accueillis dès notre arrivée dans la station à 11 H et avons apprécié que notre chambre soit déjà disponible.Cet hôtel est chaleureux avec ses 2 salons, sa cheminée, l’ambiance anglaise est excellente, musique live le lundi soir. Notre chambre avec balcon était un peu petite (surtout la douche) mais confortable, bonne literie., casiers à skis et chaussures chauffes très pratiques. |Petit déjeuner complet avec plat chaud proposé chaque matin. Petit goûter apprécié en fin d’après- midi . Repas du soir à 4 plats gastronomique et savoureux avec plateau fromages régional. Excellent séjour d’une semaine en février dernier à deux dans cet hôtel très bien situé au pied des pistes. We arrived early on the first day an we were met by John and Nicola in reception. Straight away (and unprompted) John said... I am going to upgrade you to bigger room that we have free to make things more comfortable for you both. No costs or exception at all. While we waited for the new room, John gave us a room to change into our ski gear and we went out. By the time we got home, the new room was ready. Perfect. And then..... onto the evening..... the food every night is fresh, home cooked, great quality and high end service from the amazing team that the hotel employes. The bar manager 'Harris" was a joy to be with. In the bar each evening, we met some amazing people, and this combined with the fact that John makes sure everyone is looked after and feels part of family makes it such a great experience. If you need a wine recommendation... John is your man!!! We felt at home

We stayed a family of 5 for a week of skiing. Location is the best! Facilities leave some to be desired. Beds were not comfortable, mirror in the bathroom was broken and the play room seemed like an afterthought. The common area by the fireplace was nice for tea time in the afternoon. The staff was kind and helpful but the lack of training stood out. We had to ask repeatedly for more bread, coffee etc for breakfast. dinner service was very slow but the food was generally tasty. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. No fruit or vegetables. Instead of serving local honey, jam, yogurt it was all the cheapest you could find at the supermarket. Too bad considering you’re in the heart of France with bountiful selection. The cheese selection at dinner was great though! Owner was warm and deeply cared that everyone enjoyed their stay.

Great location, 2 mins walk from the chair and bubble. This comfortable chalet hotel has all you need for a great ski holiday. Clean and comfortable rooms, an open fire for afternoon tea, a bar for drinks post dinner. The afternoon tea and dinner were excellent. We had duck, beef fillet, guinea fowl for dinner and delicious vegetarian options too. The staff were delightful - very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Thanks John and Nicola and team!

Perfect combination of location, atmosphere and truly amazing food! Very friendly staff make you feel really welcome and can’t do enough for you. You can ski up to the hotel and store your skis and boots then in the morning you are yards away from the ski lift, perfect! Stayed twice and will defiantly stay again!

Wack. Found a few hairs in our food and our rooms smelled.

While walking by this hotel, I got thrown fireworks at by some men from a room in this hotel. While they were throwing, the waitresses below were watching and laughing. A few days earlier, I had an accident while skiing. I spent that night in the hospital and I have a concussion and severe memory loss. The fireworks exploded so close to me that I spent the night and following day in bed being extremely nauseous. I called the hotel to check if they could do anything about this, but they seemed unwilling. All in all, I am very disappointed that the hotel seemed to be unwilling to undertake action against the people who assaulted me, while the waitresses were behaving like this was normal and I somehow deserved this.

When walking with my dog and wife, there were some guys throwing fireworks from the balcony, it scared both my dog and wife incredible amounts. I am very dissappointed in the organization and staff that they don’t have a better grip on this.

When walking by this hotel, some guys, around the age of 25, started throwing fireworks at us from the balcony of this hotel. The waitresses in the hotel restaurant below seemed to be enjoying this. When we walked back from our dinner later, the guys who threw were in the restaurant. They started taunting us and giving us middle fingers, while the waitresses were laughing and pointing. When we called the hotel, we spoke to the owner. Although he was friendly, he did not seem to want to take responsibility for his staff or to undertake any action. We are really disappointed with how we are treated by all people involved, especially since we did not know any of these people.

Accomodation was basic verging on uncomfortable even for single occupancy. A sofa bed with a plastic undersheet and protruding metal sides was less than ideal. Shower was good though! Food and general service in the hotel was very good. Location was good and had there been enough snow to ski to the door would ahve been really good.

We came in for dinner and were NOT disappointed 😋 We had a superb starter but....the crispy belly pork was sensational 👌 no fat, rendered beautifully with a sweet crispy topping. Live chilled music from "Squid lips" topped it off! Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back 😋 👍😕♥️

Séjour agréable , accueil chaleureux et sympathique, chambre spacieuse avec balcon et bonne literie, petit déjeuner très complet avec un petit plat chaud pour bien commencer la journée, petit goûter apprécié en fin d'aprés midi et le repas du soir équivalent à une table gastronomique et servi par du personnel se mettant au service |des clients français afin de facilité les échanges, super expérience, le barman est très sympathique et nous avons eu de très bon échanges linguistiques avec Max. Le personnel est très compétent en toutes choses, ce qui refléte le parfait management de JOHN.|Merci à vous pour ce très bon séjour

Accueil et personnel très cool et sympa mais désorganisé. Chambres très petites. Finitions de rénovation non faites. ||Petit-déjeuner très léger en été, par manques de clients. Pour l'hiver, on nous a dit bien plus complet et varié vu la plus grande fréquentation. Pas de restauration le soir non plus. Ce qui n'était pas informé à la réservation.||Beaucoup trop cher, prix d'un 4 étoiles pour juste 2. On paye l'emplacement et la prestance de la station des Gets.

Super hôtel et surtout des patrons Extra!

Rien à redire ! Nous avons profité d'un super moment dans cet hôtel ! Accueil, service, repas du soir et petit déj :tout était impeccable ! La cerise sur le gateau: la piscine super bien exposée et à très bonne température qui fait un bien fou après les randos (qui sont elles aussi géniale quand on fuit la foule !) Nous reviendrons ! 😁 (cet hôtel se situe à Hirmentaz, en vallée verte)

The food was great and all the young staff were fantastic. Unfortunately, their boss is a complete bully who constantly puts them down and is extremely rude towards them. He really is a horrible person. He ruined the evening and his breath stank.

Ma fille, future médecin, n’a pu se libérer pour profiter de notre séjour au ski, à cause de la pandémie. L’hôtel a gentiment accepté d’annuler la réservation sans frais. Le jour même ils ont prélevé la totalité du voyage, et depuis mes appels restent sans réponse et je n’arrive pas à récupérer mon argent. De plus, il se présente sur la plate-forme Booking comme un hôtel à trois étoiles alors qu’il n’en ont que deux Cfr la photo ci-dessous.C’est du vol et de la publicité mensongère.

Het hotel ligt geweldig, direct aan de piste(ski in/ski out).|Wij waren en met 3 kleine kinderen en daar werd heel relaxed mee omgegaan. Enkele kamers behoorlijk klein waar wij er helaas eentje van hadden. Ontbijt is heel basic en (half) op bestelling. Men doet er niet aan eten verspilling. Dit geldt ook voor het diner. Er is in de avond een vast gerecht waarvoor je je kunt aanmelden. Leuke bar en heerlijk lounge met een gezellige open haard. De eigenaar (Engels) is heel behulpzaam met dingetjes voor je regelen bijv de skipassen en het op tijd opwarmen van de jacuzzi. Eigenlijk alles oké!

l'hôtel est très bien placé, au centre du village tout en restant calme, c'est le côté très positif. L'accueil était un peu désorganisé, probablement cause du Covid, et un personnel débordé, mais l'ambiance reste chaleureuse. Nous avons également dîné au restaurant de l'hôtel, très bon. On peu tout à fait partir ski à l'épaule pour rejoindre les pistes tout près.

Nous avons passé une nuit à 3, l’hôtel est très bien placé, très propre, et l’accueil est vraiment super. La literie est très confortable ! Les chambres un peu petites mais suffisantes pour dormir !|Le petit déjeuner plus que parfait, on ne manque de rien tout est très bon. Le personnel aux petits soins. |Une adresse à garder quand on reviendra ! |Encore merci

Personnel très sympa

Accueil irréprochable, hôtel très chaleureux très bien placé, chambre propre. Les gérants sont très serviables et à l’écoute. Ce fut une très belle rencontre. Respect des mesures d’hygiène au petit déjeuner.

L'emplacement de l'hôtel est idéal en plein centre de la station, aux pieds des pistes. Par contre le personnel ne parle pas français (étrange pour une station en France ?), le wifi qui ne fonctionne pas et la télé non plus... La literie quant à elle, a fait son temps. Pour le prix de la chambre peut mieux faire !

Ci rechiamo spesso a Les Gets ed abbiamo voluto provare questo hotel, poiché si trova in una posizione davvero comoda per tutto. Carino, personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Abbiamo soggiornato qui due volte, in due camere comunicanti diverse. Camere carine ed accoglienti, un po' piccole per quattro persone, ma vivibili. Il bagno non era molto comodo: una piccola vasca, dove fare la doccia significava allagare completamente il pavimento. Metterei una porta alla vasca e curerei un po' di più la pulizia, così sarebbe perfetto.|Grazie comunque alle ragazze, sempre gentili e sorridenti

Un super hôtel ! Nous avons été super bien accueilli alors que nous arrivions tard et devions partir tôt pour le trail des Gets, les propriétaires ont été gentil au possible et très arrangeant. Un grand merci 🙂

Personnel super sympa. Chambres très bien et confortables, tarifs raisonnables et emplacement "rêvé" pour aller faire du VTT 👍. P'tit dej avec de tout, manque peut-être un peu de charcuterie...(mais c mon avis😜) Parking un peu difficile mais faisable (séjour d'une nuit, 1 journée en été ) Bref c'est nickel , on recommande 😉

Assez déçu de cet hôtel dans l'ensemble durant notre séjour d'une semaine. ATTENTION C'EST UN DEUX ETOILES (ET NON TROIS COMME LE DIT GOOGLE ET AUTRES SITES !!!) Points positifs : - Personnels très aimables et attentionnés - Restaurant de la demi-pension délicieux proposant 3 choix parmi les entrées, plats et desserts (seul hic, aucune soirée raclette ni fondu !). - Ski Room chauffé (mais un peu petit) - Bien situé (très proches des pites et du centre-ville) Points négatif (pour ne pas dire le reste) : - Ménage non fait dans les chambres (juste les lits retapés quotidiennement) donc poubelle débordante rarement changé, papier toilette non fournis, draps et serviettes jamais changé du séjour. (ménage bâclé dans l’hôtel par ailleurs, pour exemple plusieurs bouts de papiers et mouchoirs ont traînés dans les parties communes toute la semaine). - Chambres très petites : 1 se

Rapport qualité prix au top, j'ai eu de la chance de trouvé une chambre a se prix la au dernier moment! Après une journée de vtt j'ai apprécié me reposé dans la literie bien confortable 😉

Das Zimmer war sehr klein, aber entspricht so in etwa dem Preis. Man konnte sich weder im Bad oder neben dem Bett vernünftig bewegen (Zimmer 12). In de Dusche hatte es an der Decke kleine schimmlige Stellen; nicht in tragischem Ausmass aber doch nicht so gut. Das Kabel zum TV schien einen Defekt zu haben, so dass dieser nich funktionierte. Gut war, dass bei geschlossener Reception die Schlüssel bereit lagen. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung bzw. dem Preis entsprechend gut.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff

A beautiful place to stay in Les Gets. On the doorstep of the front de neige so super easy access to slopes. The food served is delicious. Not a single bad meal the whole week. The young staff are brilliant and so dedicated to serve you at table. I took stars off for a couple of reasons. Room 2 had a poor shower which wasnt repaired. Infact my wife had to use her own tape to fix it. The light in the bathroom and the main bedroom light were broken and no attempt was made to fix it. The wifi which is an essential requirement nowdays was non existent in room 2. Now in saying all of the above I am doing so constructively. It is obvious the the hotel has a dedicated clientel perhaps they have had other rooms. This is a fab hotel but every guest has the right to have equal amenities. Would I suggest this as a ski place to go back to... of course I would go back and I would defn recommend it to

10 sur 10 pour l'emplacement de l'hôtel et sa cuisine mais en revanche, il n'en est pas de même pour les chambres et salles de bains très exiguës ni pour le ménage qui laisse à désirer.

Hôtel très bien placé, mais les chambres sont trop petites et le ménage laisse à désirer. La cuisine est excellente.

Best food in Les Gets

Super accueil, nous sommes arrivés à l'improviste suite à un souci avec notre logement réservé à la base. Accueil impeccable, couple avec bébé nous avons été traité avec le meilleur des égards. Je recommande vivement ne sera-ce que pour l'hospitalité et l'ambiance cosy !

Superbe situation pour cet hôtel, départ et arrivée sans déchausser, les tarifs sont élevés mais malheureusement la belle station des Gets s'est embourgeoisée au fil des années. Son rapport altitude/enneigement reste l'un des meilleurs du 74.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Christiania. It was informal and cosy yet trendy and chic all at the same time. The head honcho Derek is an incredibly amiable Scotsman who's smiley friendly manner is obviously contagious and filters down through his staff. The hotel is conveniently located at the base of the main chairlift next to the ticket office and across the road from the ski hire shop. The restaurant is fabulous! You'd be hard put to find better tucker in Les Gets! This hotel is fantastic for families but if you're a childless couple like myself anytime outside school holidays is perfect.

Sfeervol en gastvrij hotel aan de piste. Na krap Anderhalf uur rijden vanaf vliegveld Genève sta je op de ski's. Goed ontbijt en avondeten. Na het skiën een lekker drankje bij de open haard. Uitstekende bediening.

Bodde her første natt av TMB. Veldig fornøyd! Serviceinnstilte ansatte, nydelig middag og hyggelige rom med fantastisk utsikt mot fjellene! De har wifi i resepsjonsområdet/stuen. Veldig hyggelig spiseområde og terasse hvor man kan nyte utsikten. Anbefales!
