I didn’t try the food because the service from the moment I stepped in was so rude. I was alone so I asked for a single table in the middle but he refused and sat me on a high table by the door. The seat was broken so I was unstable and uncomfortable “greeting” the other guest as I was literally by the door. About 5 mins after another single walked in (a Frenchmen) and was sat alone in the table I initially requested- no questions asked. I wonder, was I refused because I’m a woman or because I’m not French? Never coming back of course…

Amazing authentic Savoy, Alpine, and French cuisine, superb in every aspect! Bravo!

Nous avons passé une super soirée au Chaudron. L’équipe est au top, une super ambiance familiale et les plats valent vraiment le détour. De l’entrée au dessert tout était excellent, notamment les viandes !

Nous recommandons vivement ce restaurant. Nous avons passé un agréable moment : ambiance chaleureuse & nourriture excellente ! La viande est extra ! Et mention spéciale au pain perdu qui était très très bon. On reviendra pour sûr ! Bravo au cuisto 😊

Cuisine exceptionnelle. Le canard et le boeuf étaient parfait. Nous reviendrons. (seul bémol: l'aeration inexistante du restaurant)

Ordered the special of the day which is a filet mignon, and asked for it to be medium rare. At 55 euros it wasn’t cheap and given my experience with this restaurant I was looking forward to it being done right. The steak came out well done in parts, medium well at best. I returned it to the wait staff, who took it back to the chef. The chef’s response was that it was medium rare. No offer of a replacement just outright denial. I have been coming here for years so I was utterly disappointed to be gaslit by their response. My husband was most unhappy and told them we would cancel the order. They swiftly swept away my plate without an apology. This was also after sitting and waiting for our main for more than 30 mins in a smoke-filled restaurant - they really need to work on their ventilation - wear your worst clothes if you didn’t want to smell like your food for days on end on holiday

My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant at least eight times in the last three years. Until now, it’s consistently been a 4.5/5 experience. It is one of the more expensive, “upmarket” restaurants in Chamonix, and we have been happy to pay premium prices for quality, professionalism and consistency. Not tonight. The starters were fine. As expected. Nothing special, but acceptable. Sadly, that was the high point of the evening. For mains, my wife ordered the special of the day: filet steak, medium rare. I ordered a ribeye, medium. When the plates arrived, the problem was immediately obvious. My wife’s filet was overcooked. Not “slightly off.” Not “borderline.” Overcooked. Nowhere near medium rare. Mine was fine. No issue. No complaint. So we politely sent back the overcooked steak. This is where the evening descended into absurdity. The waitress took the steak to the kitchen and r

A Gem of a Find: Intimate & Delicious A wonderful little restaurant with a cozy, intimate, and pleasant atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. The Highlights: Appetizer: We started with a fresh fish ceviche—bright, clean, and perfectly prepared. To Drink: We accompanied the meal with a delicious local white wine that complemented the flavors perfectly. Main Courses: We had two main dishes featuring meat and duck. Both is rich sauce and mashed potatoes and yam. Both were superb and deeply flavorful. Desserts: We finished with a classic Crepe Brûlée and a dessert reminiscent of a Tiramisu. Both were the perfect sweet ending. The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food in a warm, inviting setting. Delicious!

The food and service here is fantastic! We lucked out and got their last table for the night. What a find. The smoked salmon starter was amazing as was the chicken supreme with morrels. Incredible!

First off, let me make it clear that we didnt eat here. We stopped in to ask if they had a table for 2; we were told yes but we'd need to wait 5 minutes. We agreed and stood waiting. After around 15 minutes, the waiting staff came up to us and said our table was ready. They took us to a high table in the window (which was basically a barrel on end with a glass top and two stools. We sat and the waiter cleaned the table, bought menu's, glasses and cutlery. As we started browsing the menu, the staff appeared again and were having a discussion right next to us, next thing was they said that there had been a mix up and this table was booked and we would need to leave! I mean, by this point we'd been waiting for 20 minutes and the galling thing was that there were other empty tables. Surprisingly excellent French fine dining!The chefs make their food with care and love. Everything is delicious on the menu and a great selection of wines! Try it yourself.

Food was fine - vibe was bad. The “chef/boss” is very openly greedy and micromanages the staff. Wine pour tiny.

Absolutely superb experience at La Chaudron. The food was spectacular, and tasted like it had been cooked by a wood fire. They brought it some fantastic bread, great appetizers and marvellously cooked meat. Paired with an extensive wine list and fantastic service this place is a must in Charmonix!

Locale molto accogliente trovato per caso facendo una passeggiata al centro nascosto in una via. Personale molto gentile nonostante non mi capisse la cameriera é stata molto carina anche la responsabile che invece era italiana. Eravamo in 5 e ci hanno accolto subito nonostante le nostre richieste cibo buonissimo peccato che abbiamo mangiato solo dei secondi ed una focaccina tradizionale del luogo molto buona ( solo perche ci eravamo riempiti a pranzo senno era un piacere prendere di piu) . In tutti i ristoranti che abbiamo girato in zona qui mi avete fatto un buonissimo pollo con puré accompagnato da salsa ai funghi eccelenti anche il filetto buonissimo. Il prezzo un po alto sopratutto per i ristoranti che ci sono attorno ma ne vale la pena tutto veramente tanto buono e molto gentili grazie alla prossima

Excellente adresse dans le quartier pietons. Cuisine francaise traditionnelle, planches apero avec jambon à tomber parterre, viande cuite au four japonais, on craque pour la pièce de viande d'Argentine...

I was in Chamonix for a mountaineering course at the end of July and I have discovered this restaurant which is excellent. So I came every night!! Food is very good, the ambience is beautiful, service is impeccable. I will come back to Chamonix and to this restaurant.

We experienced discriminatory treatment when went for a dinner. When questioned openly, person serving told that he is not the owner and doesn’t decide the rules. Surprised to experience such treatment in today’s world. I wouldn’t go there again

Nous sommes arrivés un peu avant 22h et ne pensions pas trouver un endroit où dîner à cette heure là. Arrivés au restaurant, le chef à l’accueil n’a pas hésité à nous accueillir. La cuisine était EXCELLENTE, le service adorable. Rien à dire foncez !!

This was the best meal we had in Chamonix! We had the goat cheese crostini, marinated tuna steak, pork belly, and caramel French toast. The food was all excellent. Service was great and they were able to seat us at opening without a reservation - though some that came later were turned away. Recommend a meal here if in Chamonix for a few days!

Siamo stati benissimo! In una prossima gita a Chamonix sarà nuovamente una piacevole tappa ! Complimenti e grazie . Ps per chi è goloso come noi lasciare uno spazio per il loro signature dessert 😉
